PV Students Gear Up for Homecoming Week, Showcasing Hornet Pride
Passaic Valley geared up for Homecoming during the week of September 26th. To kick off the week, the Passaic Valley Student Senate organized Spirit Week and grade level class officers brought back the Penny Wars fundraising competition. On Friday, September 30, the Fall Pep Rally took place on Walton Field, the first on the new turf, where the Homecoming football game would be held later that evening.

Swarm Up and Spike Down Cancer: Spike Ball Tournament to Be Held in Honor of Dominic Cappello
On Saturday, June 18th at 5 p.m., the Superintendent Ambassadors will host a Spike Ball tournament in honor of Dominic Cappello to generate support and raise money as 6-year old “Dom” begins treatment. The event will be held on the brand new turf field.

19 of PV Photographers Participate in Pingry High School's 26th Annual Student Photo Exhibition
19 of Passaic Valley’s photography students were selected to submit their work to Pingry High School’s annual Student Exhibition in the Hostetter Gallery. The exhibit began on February 18, 2022 and continued until March 26, 2022.

After Being Virtual for Two Years, The PV Art Show Is Back for In-Person Viewing on May 24th
After a two-year hiatus from gallery viewing due to COVID-19, the PV Art Show has returned to its traditional format for 2022. In the past weeks, students and art teachers have worked hard preparing their showcase. The Art Show will be available for public viewing on May 24th from 7-9pm in the Farrell Gym.

Mrs. Vigilante Honored as "Counselor of the County" by Passaic County School Counselor Association
On Wednesday March 23, Mrs. Danielle Vigilante was presented as “Counselor of the County”, by Passaic County School Counselor Association. Nominated by her co-workers, Mrs. Vigilante was honored for her dedication to Passaic Valley students and the community.

Boys' Track Brings Home Penn Wheel, Sets New School Record at Penn Relays Invitational
Passaic Valley’s Boys Track and Field had themselves quite the season this spring, competing at the Penn Relays Track and Field event at UPenn for the first time in two years, leaving behind a new legacy and bringing home another trophy for Passaic Valley.

PJ Casale's senior season has come "full circle," finishing up his high school wrestling career at Passaic Valley. Casale will be graduating this June as a State, Regional, District, and League Champion, with 110 wins under his belt.

Senior Jessier Soriano Leaves Behind Impressive Legacy, Setting New PV & North Jersey 800m Track Record
Track star Jessier Soriano ‘22 ends his Winter Track career with some very notable achievements which include being named Track and Field Athlete of the Week, breaking a 13-year Passaic Valley record, and making 1st team All-Conference for both the 800m and the 4x400m.

Basketball Star Brian Whitney Hits 1,000 Career Point Milestone; Awarded Athlete of the Week
Passaic Valley Senior Brian Whitney has had himself quite the season, being named NorthJersey.com's Athlete of the Week and reaching the 1,000 career point milestone, one of only seven athletes to do so.

Girls Basketball Starts Season Off Strong
Led by Head Coach Marc Salvatore, Assistant Coach Michael Couden, and Team Captain Kayla Price ‘22, the Hornets were ranked 4th in the Big North Conference as of January 25th. The girls have scored a total of 491 points, with lead scorer Janesy Ruiz ‘23 securing 149 points.

PV Theater Takes Home Five Awards at Bucks County; Nominated for Eight More at Montclair State Foxy Awards Night
This year has been another successful one for Passaic Valley Theater, receiving various recognitions as the awards season begins. On April 4th, it was announced that PV was nominated for eight awards at the Montclair State University (MSU) Foxy Awards, held on May 16th. Furthermore, PV Theater won five awards at the Buck County Playhouse Theater Festival on April 29th.

"Blown Away with STEAM": Ms. Czepiel's 3D Design Classes Explore Glass Arts
On April 12, Ms. Corine Czepiel’s 3D Design and Advanced 3D Honors classes visited GlassRoots, a “non-profit, glass arts education studio” in Newark, New Jersey. The trip was funded by the Passaic Valley Education Foundation’s mini grant, “Blown Away with STEAM.”

PV Interact and Environmental Clubs Team Up to Make Passaic Valley a Little Bit Cleaner
On May 13th, for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, a group of PV Environmental Club and Interact Club students with environmental ambitions set out to make Passaic Valley a little bit more beautiful and a little bit cleaner, one piece of litter at a time.

Valley Echo Goes Behind the Scenes With Cast Members of Chicago, Premiering May 12th
On May 12, 2022, PV's production of the jazz musical, Chicago, will have its first showing in the Schneider Auditorium with students from the Theater Department portraying iconic Chicago characters like Velma Kelly, Roxie Hart and Billy Flynn. With debut day quickly approaching, cast members have begun on-stage rehearsals for a performance unlike any seen on the PV stage.

The Teen Center Provides Weekly Events and Programs Throughout March and April With More Planned
The Teen Center hosted many activities and programs during March and April to help students socialize, express themselves, and prepare themselves for the world outside of school. Many more programs are planned for May and beyond.

"La Gringa" Honored as Best Play by Speech and Theater Association of New Jersey
Passaic Valley’s Fall Play, La Gringa, won Best Play by STANJ (Speech and Theatre Association of New Jersey) on February 12th. The cast received a trophy and held a private pizza party hosted by Superintendent Mr. Bracken Healy to celebrate their title.
